Anyone with Skype know why even though I've ticked the boxes on privacy saying only people with my details can contact me, I still get strange men trying to speak to me? lol  Do I still show up in search even though I've ticked those boxes?

They may be "requests for contact details" that you are being sent. Try unchecking the "requests my contact details" and "sends me contacts" in the notifications section and see if that helps.
