QWest Firmware

Aside from my other thread, anyone had a play with the QWest firmware?
The default login is changed to 192.168.0.1
I couldn't seem to change the routers IP from this to my usual 192.168.240.125 and the IP range from 192.168.1.64- 192.164.1.254(think it was this anyhow)

Any ideas?

Not played with it I'm afraid. All of mine run the BT firmware.

I had no problem doing what you wanted

http://192.168.0.1/xslt?PAGE=E_2_1 allows you the change the LAN IP to 192.168.240.125 with submask 255.255.0.0

I then had to reboot my PC, else I got a 404 when trying to reach 192.168.240.125

Then go to http://192.168.240.125/xslt?PAGE=E_2_0 to set up DHCP, which allowed the IP range you seek.

http://192.168.240.125/xslt?PAGE=E_2_3 is NAT Mapping which allows you to allocate a specific IP to a device etc.

In your other thread you state that you flashed a V6 firmware with the Quest firmware. Others have not yet managed to re-flash V6 firmwares at all, will you please confirm the it was a V6 that you flashed.

You also state that you use the Singtel firmware, this operates at 8dB SNR and connects at a lower speed than other firmwares.

I assume that you are familiar with The 2700 data at TRIPOD

It was deffo a V6

all the info is on Tripod

Usually my 192.168.240.125 has a subnet of 255.255.255.0 so will give 255.255.0.0 a try

No matter what I did, couldn't change router IP or address range, might reflash it and see what happens

As for reboot inbetween, a cmd-ipconfig /release, ipconfig /renew, should sort that

The Singtel is very stable on my line, that's why I like it, but thought I'd give the QWest a pop until the IP config problem

As an afterthought, I did try reflashing the QWest back to Singtel, no joy unfortunately

Qwest firmware users:

How is the firmware compared to BT's v6, better? Is setting port forwarding and static IPs for LAN computers less awkward on QWest than BT's?

Have been considering trying it for some time but the lack of rollback has stopped me from risking it

Would imagine rollback to a BTv6 is possible. I found the port forwarding very easy
