Anyone experiencing really slow speeds tonight?

Only getting around 390 Mbps taking a lifetime to load a page.
Paul

Steve

Mine are ok on an 8Mbps connection

So I think that suggests IDNet's network is ok . A BT speedtest if you can get one will show whether your profile's been hit or if that's ok I guess a local exchange issue or congestion may be on the cards.

Are you able to run a BT speedtest, as Steve suggested?

LOL Sorry!! 0.39Mb

Looking better now...........

Think its down to congestion at the exchange, isn't it strange though that my mate who's with BT dosen't seem to suffer the slow speeds at peak periods. It seems to be becoming a regular occurrence lately.

A BT Speedtest (however hard it is to get the damned thing to work!) will show your profile, though, which is useful for diagnostics.

The exchange is likely to have multiple Virtual Paths (VPs) and it is the VP with tends to be congested rather then the whole exchange. If your friend isn't affected, its an indication he is on a different VP.

Speeds not to bad tonight, results of BT test............

Download speed achieved during the test was - 2821 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600-7150 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :7616 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 6500 Kbps

If you can do some more at different times of the day and then pass them on to support, it looks like congestion to me but whether they can shift BT is another issue.
