If you thought your PC was safe from viruses, there is always the weakest point. The user.  :slap:

This is why I never let other people use my pc un-regulated. I have a pass, not to stop hackers, but to stop friends using facebook.
I use to have a signature, then it all changed to chip and pin.

Nothing wrong with facebook if you don't use dumb apps or watch dumb video feeds they are all pretty obvious, Facecrooks is a great facebook website with the latest scams exposed. Sophos do tutorials on setting up your account properly and securely facebook now uses for https all the time for what its worth and scans all links it has via WOT to check links themselves. Bitdefender offer a free app which is like a facebook AV, it runs on the fb API 24/7 so when you log in it has scanned all your feeds and your friends feeds for likejacking, tagjacking spam and viral videos etc so you can remove them. TBH googling 'Amy Pond' the girl out of DR Who who got so drunk that she wondered around her hotel in the states naked is more likely to get you in trouble ;)
Damned, if you do damned if you don't

Well, I could do all that security, or just you know... not use facebook. :)

All that security is pretty much done for you really ::) I just like keeping in contact with my friends around the world on an real time basis without emailing or using messengers.

That is fine if that is what you use it for. But if it's a liability, I would not recommend it to my enemies, let alone my friends!

facebook is a liability (as the yanks like to say) period.

It's too easy for people to air their 'dirty washing' in public which can, in severe circumstances, end people's careers or stop them getting a job.

I got shot of it because of the content of some of my contacts' pages (people whom I worked with and knew) which, lets just say, were not suitable for wider consumption and may come back to haunt them at some point, considering as employers now look there when recruiting.

I use linked in which is a professional networking tool without all the garbage facebook has succumbed to.
