.Griff.

There seems to be a widespread problem with Youtube videos not loading for a lot of people. Where the video should be displayed there's a blank black box instead.

It's affecting me and after a quick Google it seems to be affecting a lot of other people as well so this is just a quick heads up to anyone with the same problem who may be concerned it's their PC at fault.

Yeah I'm seeing it too. Dunno if this forum allowed embedding, so I shall test it. Just watching some camera/lens reviews and they work while embedded onto websites, but not if you go directly to youtube.

Ah well, that doesn't work :D You might want to get the option for these forums to allow youtube video posts, we've got it on our SMF forums over at a mates site. Seems to work fine on websites I've seen today :)

Hmm, the youtube embed thing for SMF seems to have vanished in our last update of the forum. I wonder why no one has mentioned it :D

It's been working again for a couple of hours at least. I've been watching videos about the shiny things my camera can do ;D

It's not a native SMF feature as far as I'm aware.

It's not Glenn. I did suggest it myself many moons ago but it was felt at the time that it might slowdown page creation.

Apparently (I forgot to come back and tell you :D) when the last update came out, or the one before (not sure) they removed the add on that allowed you to embed, and you just past the youtube link and it'll do it for you (or at least does on the other forums I admin)

We have SMF 2.0 on Pals.  It's not without some issues.  To relate to your question though, Niall, Flash is enabled by default, but we turned it off.  ;D

There used to be an exploit on SMF forums with flash embedding enabled. I can't remember what it was, but we disabled it on our forums for that reason.
