Does anyone have any experience of this phone (or, being Android, would my questions apply to any A-based phones)? A friend of mine has just upgraded, so I had the chance to handle it yesterday, and I found that using the keyboard in landscape mode didn't give the same problems on other smartphones I've tried, due to my finger tremors.

What he couldn't tell me, though he was very good at scrolling through all the apps he's installed ;D, is whether the phone can synchronise contacts (and preferably calendar) with a desktop app. Can anyone tell me please.

I'd also be interested in recommended apps.

Thanks.

Yes, it can be a bugger to set up, but once the phone is connected, MPE makes life pretty easy.

Didn't have a problem with it. Get the PC version and install, and search android market for the app

This was with an HTC Desire, and from what I recall, it needed some drivers that were present on the phone's system, but wouldn't install on the PC.  Had to search for the drivers, but then all was OK until the PC was formatted (this is the one I was working on the other week), now we can't find the drivers again.

Still, as this is a Samsung, the above is probably irrelevant.  :)

My Phone Explorer on pc can now connect quite easily to an android phone.  Get the android version as well.  Start the pc version and then start the phone version so it can find the pc version.  I use it on my NEW htc wildfire s and it works flawlessly.  I also ust  the keyboard in landscape mode and find it much easier then some others.

Mine's a Desire, no probs connecting wirelessly. Start app on phone, start proggy on lappie, stick in my Desire's fixed ip, connected

Would a keyboard be preferable? I've no experience with it, but the Droid 3 has just been released.

[edit]
Seems USA only. Why does the USA and Japan get the best phones? With the uk/eu all they need is a sim change, if they want to skip translations from the USA version. :(
I use to have a signature, then it all changed to chip and pin.

The Desire Z has a keyboard, I believe, Ben.
