Has anyone on here got one of the Airport Express Base Stations - the wireless 'N' version?   I'm trying to find the part no of the early version which would be immediately prior to the current one.  I think it's printed on the box and not on the Base Station itself.

I have been offered an AEB which is supposedly the latest (current) version.  It has a part no of  MD031B/A and I have a suspicion that this is not one of the latest (Mid 2011) versions which apparently has an extended range compared to the earlier ones.

Can anyone throw any light on this?

The MD031B/A is the latest 2011 version.

You can find this out by putting one in your basket on the Apple Store and going to checkout, it then lists the items part number  ;)

The part number of the 4th generation Oct 09-June11 is MC340.

That's a neat trick, I never thought of doing that  ;D  The only part number I came across was one in the anandtech review which is MD031LL/A.  I can only assume this is a US part number since it bears no resemblance to anything I've seen anywhere else.

Thanks for the help - it looks as though the offer is genuine.

The MD031LL/A is the US version of the latest model.

Have you a Mac Computer Tac? If so check out Mactracker on the App Store it lists all the current and old Apple Hardware complete with part and model numbers.

I thought that might be the case but couldn't think of any reason why they should have different part numbers since it's only the power supply that differs.
