MAC Filtering

I've recently been trying to get a new device to connect to the Wireless on the 2700 - MAC filtering is enabled.

In desperation I've tried turning wireless off/on, disabling/re-enabling MAC filtering but all that has happened is that none of my devices are now able to find the wireless signal despite it currently being enabled and MAC filtering off.

At present I seem to have a good connection, so I'm reluctant to do a re-boot, but can anyone tell me if this is the only way to bring the whole thing back to normal?  It keeps telling me the new configurations are accepted but they don't seem to 'take'.

The connection will probably go pear-shaped since there's a lot of OpenReach vans around at present some of which look as though they are replaced short lengths of cable - in other words a patch and mend job

Are you hitting 'save' when you make changes, Tac?

Yes Rik I was.  What seems to have happened is that "SSID Broadcast" was unchecked so it was transmitting, but invisible.  I can only think that when I switched wireless off to try and reset the MAC addresses, it reverted to default - either that or I inadvertently unchecked it.  Probably the latter.

What happened was that I had an Airport Express (Wireless g) fail and got a replacement.  No way could I get it to connect until I eventually realised the MAC filtering was set for the old one, which of course excluded the replacement.  Once I started trying to sort them out things went downhill.

Still we're back in business now so I think I'll leave it as it is.  The Airport Extreme should be here in a day or two so we'll see how that goes.

OK I'll have another go at MAC filtering later on and try it with the above.
