El Reg is reporting that Tiscali customers have been unable to send email for days and that the company is not giving a date for a fix.

Doesn't it give you a nice warm glow. :)

A glance at the Tiscali forum can give you multiple warm glows - the whole outfit is a nightmare.

The sad thing, to me, is that people are still signing up without bothering to seek advice, or ignoring advice when given. We need to change our 'free lunch' culture. :(

Going to take them a while to convince the rest of the world they've stopped their domain being a magnet for spammers ...

And the Tiscali response is;

Spokeswoman Jody Haskayne told The Reg: "They have a contract with us and they are obliged to pay us." Customers who want to switch to another provider because of email should "make their case" to the firm, she said.

"We provide a quality email service...it is free and they are not obliged to use it." Tiscali said it now believes it has fixed all problems with the system, which began early last week. On Friday afternoon it still didn't know whether emails have been permanently lost, however.

Typical of their attitude..  ::)

I wonder if they will give me a free email account? If not, and you have to be a customer to obtain one, it's not free, it's inclusive!

I agree, Inactive, typical Tiscali - "It's not our fault, but our engineers are installing new hardware to fix the problem..." Obviously not schooled in detecting irony. :(

Indeed Rik, it appears as part of their inclusive package, hardly " free " in the true sense.

Anyway as long as Tiscali customers are happy with this bunch ... so be it, they get what they deserve. ;D

Funny old lot the British Public, it seems many will suffer any old cr*p, as long as it appears cheap. ;)

It goes with the cult of celebrity. :(

Indeed. I'd have had to add an 's' otherwise!  :angel:
