I am currently on the Home Max broadband package, which says I can receive up to 448kbps upload speed, but im only reaching 370kbps. Is there anything I can do to increase this my end? (I have all obvious programs closed and am the only person on the network).

Secondly, the Home Supermax package says I can receive up to 832kbps upload. If I were to upgrade to this would my upspeed double?

Thanks

Ray

That's about the maximum upload speed you will get, on Home Supermax your max upload speed wil be around 700kbps.

The key is to look at what you are synced at in your router stats. If you are only synced at 370 it coul be because f a very long line or a lot of noise when the line synced with the exchange.

ADSL Link      Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed     8128 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation    15 db    2.5 db
Noise Margin      14 db      26 db

No idea if thats good or bad.

So if I upgraded to supermax package am I guaranteed to be receiving around 700kbps upload? As i need at least 600kbps to be able to do what I want to do.

Rik

There are no guarantees with ADSL, it's a 'best effort' service.

But you do have a very good line and the sync required should be easily acheived.

I've mentioned this before, but I hardly ever get more than 500kbps of my 800kbps upstream (sync is 8128/836). I have assumed this behaviour is 'normal', though I used to easily get this upstream. Stuff changes, I guess.

More people online, more crosstalk, more congestion on upload bandwidth, winds from the north. Who knows why these things happen, BT will never tell us. :(
