Ccleaner made no difference and I still got the same message in PSI.

it started to slow things down so its gone now.Thats what I found last time.thanks for the help though

You've definitely got something weird going on there. In psi it'll show you the file path for the programs that need updating. I had to go through all this on my mums PC to get rid of loads of old bits n peices. It might be worth using comodo system cleaner too as it sounds like you've got lots of old stuff on there. My mums 9 year old PC ran slow with PSI at first but that was because of all the outdated files on the PC. Once I'd gotten rid of all that and updated, PSI was fine. Even if you set it not to auto scan/update it's handy and wouldn't slow anything down.

I find PSI a blessing and a curse.  I've had to set it to ignore quite a few older programs that I have no need to update, such as Adobe Audition, and it also made me obsessive about having a 100% score.  Sometimes it's less stressful just not to know.

It can be infuriating at times, I agree, but it's probably worth the pain - though don't try telling me that on a bad day.
