Hi, I'm thinking of moving to fibre broadband from IDNet.

The problem I have is the master phone line socket in my house is in a ridiculous position with no power nearby!

I have a second phone line which is currently disconnected but the master socket for that one is in a more suitable location.

When installing, would the engineer be able to move my main line to the other socket?

Rik

I don't see why not, it would just involve crimping the exchange (or cabinet :)) pair to a different internal pair.

Do they come in on the same drop wire?  And is there an eaves box?   If so, quite an easy job.

You may need to use some bribery - coffee, tea, biscuits, bacon rolls ...

I'm desperately trying to figure out why kamikaze pilots wore helmets.

Thanks guys! I didn't know if the engineer would do it when installing or I'd have to arrange for it to be done beforehand.

Here's hoping to some super fast broadband soon!

Thanks for the karma points, I think I deserve them for managing to get through the forums sign up process!

Any small change will be easy to negotiate - can you describe the two current installations and cable runs.

If it is major you may need to arrange before hand.

I'm not too sure of the current installation sorry.

On another note due to positioning I'll need to probably get another powerline adapter. I already have a couple of Orange ones, would the TP-Link TL-PA211 work with those?

 :welc: :karma:

I don't think the colour of the powerline adaptor matters I'd just stick with the same chipset to be sure. :hide:
