Trouble is, all of the networks want to put their crud all over it, which is why it's delayed. I think O2 were the last to get the previous major update, several weeks after everyone else.

Justinas Sensation has 768mb Ram and only about 14is free at any one time, it needs 1GB really. Battery life is shocking as well, my iPhone with wifi on will last 2.5 days with fair usage, hers far less with no wifi at all

I love that screen I love the features, but the iphone for me is a better experience.

I can't argue on the battery life Gary.

Even though I've only got it on GSM and its only a 1 Ghz processor I've got about 2 days tops with only a bit of usage.

I hope they address that in an update.

I recharge mine every 48 hours (3GS) wifi usage is low but bluetooth is always on.

Thats the HTC issue, small batteries, Mitch with phones that need more power. iOS does seem to have better battery management, with wifi enabled using facebook/G+ web browsing texting and a few calls and I can get 2 and a half days out of the iPhone 4 If im lucky, Skype hits it hard though. Justina is charging her sensation every night. I should mention she has about 143mb ram free I made a typo in my post about ram usage. Touch sense is heavy on the battery, so many features have to be turned off to make it last it makes you wonder why you have them in the first place android phones do like to sync everything all the time it seems. $:-\$

The batteries in HTC handsets are quite long but they need to try and up the capacity a fair bit.

Regarding the iPhone it could be a coverage issue or maybe polling for mail too often?

No I was saying I dont have to turn off many features and still get good battery life, I just have push mail turned off, thats it, and I leave wifi enabled 24/7 if the HTC was left like that it would go flat very quick. HTC have upped the capacity in the new sensation XE looks like the battery should fit the Sensation. I must admit after the rush of 'new phone' sydrome with justina's HTC i have noticed some laggy behaviour quite surprised since its dual core. I still like my iPhone for now, and I know I will get the latest OS for a fair while. The Samsung Galaxy II is nice but has issues with free wifi hotspots on O2 and has wifi issues, in fact the HTC has death grip problems that are well reported (sensation) makes me laugh after everyone hammered the iphone for having that issue, most smartphones seem to be less phone, and less smart when it comes to making calls

I was at Silverstone over the weekend for the Britcar 24hr, both my mate and me were using our phones to keep up to date with the race positions. He has a HTC Desire, I use a Samsung Galaxy, both were fully charged on Saturday morning, but by 3pm Sunday afternoon the Desire had a flat battery, my Galaxy still had a 50% charge.

Yes, I had a good time, the weather helped, it was the first time in the 6 years the race has run that it didn't rain, or the race was stopped for a fog delay. Apart from one incident, a marshal had his leg broken when a car left the track, it was a trouble free event. The crowds are getting larger, I was one of the 189 paying spectators for the first race in 2005, I would think that around 7000 turned up this weekend.

3 of the Gadget show presenters were there 'virtually' racing the event using a VRX Imotion race frame http://vrx.ca/imotion.php (I want one), but they were cheating, the damage model was turned off, it didn't get dark and they didn't slow when the safety car was on track.

PS, ram usage seems different on phones as it does on PCs. With a PC, all the Ram is used for programs, and you have a swap file and HDD access. On phones it seems everything is loaded into ram as you don't get a swap disk. I recall the Windows 7 phones causing a lot of trouble as they used expandable memory for OS RAM, and so swapping the memory card bricked the phone.

Seems a bit poor to equip the phones with all this stuff if actually using it depletes the battery that quickly.

I've nearly dropped the thing so many times (but it never actually has dropped), its just too wide for me, gone back to my trusty no nonsense Nokia 6700 classic which I can use single handed until such time as I can find something suitable.

That's a shame. I think all full touchscreen phones are subject to being dropped, as one is subconciously not wanting to touch the screen accidentally, so you don't tend to hold it like you do other phones. I've dropped my 3GS a couple of times, but luckily indoors, onto carpet, so it bounced.
