I guess if you sync the Calendar on the iPhone with iCloud and iTunes the potential for dual entries will occur.
It says merge calendars which I always thought meant make into one, Steve.  :eyebrow:

I'm going to wait a month or so before I think about getting the iPhone4s, my iPhone4 is ok at the mo, better camera and siri doesn't really bother me.
better phone reception is a biggy. Also it's as fast as an iPad which is no slouch.

I ordered a micro sim for the 4S, and switched over from my old sim last night.   Oddly, the phone signal on the 3GS seems to have dropped a bar or two as a result.  How does that work, then?   :-\

Could it just be a software difference?

Same software as will be on the 4S.  :dunno:

Can you revert the SIM to see if the display changes?

Might be worth trying, just to see if it gets as far as the signal display.

Since installing the new OS I've noticed that my 3GS receives a stronger wifi signal, but a weaker 3G one. 1 bar instead of 3 in my house, but oddly the signal seems stronger than it was in 3-4 bar areas. In work I'd get 3-4 bars but now get a full signal. No idea why!

That's interesting. I wonder if the micro sim is just a different fit, with the adapter, and will work better in the 4S?

It has to be a possibility.

I do wish the GSM Association would get its members to agree a set algorithm to calculate signal strength so that it was standard across all devices as this state of affairs is truly ridiculous.

I hope the new Galaxy is released soon. I can upgrade next month, and despite Vodafone being annoying, all the other options seem to be getting more complaints recently so it might be easier to just stick with my current set of morons

I have to say that I'm surprised at the lack of people mentioning that the new iphone OS has blatantly ripped off android with a lot of features. I like them, but that's actually one of the reasons I was moving. Now they seem to be ripping off android, the 4GS might actually be worth a look (if the S3 is some sort of backwards step). I want new shiny!

Oh and while I'm thinking about it. The vodafone package I'm on apparently has access to the BT openzone wifi now, which is odd as I've always seen these networks around and can't connect to them, while my mate on his 4G can. I don't know if my contract has just been updated to actually allow it, but I don't remember it being there before, and I definitely remember complaining to my mate that I was paying the same as him and he had it and I never!

I really can't fault O2 I have to say, anytime I've tried to move its been a hassle.

Niall

I'm actually thinking of moving to Tesco with the Galaxy S2, but preferably the S3 if it's out soon. Still, I have until February to make my mind up. I want to reduce outgoings as I'm paying £46 a month at the mo, and the S2 is almost half that for a similar package!

And Android copied iOS features, its how it works in that great corportate world we are all part of thats falling apart around us. After all who copied the folders feature from iOS? Without this stuff going on our devices would not grow. Good luck with the wifi issues on the S2, and even death grip on HTC Sensation...ahh the irony. Phones do everything apart from make calls and have battery's that last more than a day, well if you have a 4.3"-4.6" screen device maybe thats not so surprising, where does phone end and tablet begin  :dunno:

If you are planning to port your number be careful.

They sent me a SIM out with a different number to the temporary number shown on the account and they told me the SIM had been deactivated when they traced its serial number.

Complete morons.

Was that during your jaunt around the providers? Never had an issue with porting before, but I tend to stay put, O2 works even if there is no 3G coverage.  :(

That's right Gary, looking for a better deal but I am now staying put with O2.

We are always told to look for better deals, Mitch. Sometimes that seems to cause more issues than needed though.
