Or maybe not. Come up with a similar error to Paul's, but saying the server couldn't be contacted. Trying it again (fortunately don't need to redownload!).

And sure enough, I've got the error again. Might try it again in the morning when the US are asleep.

.Griff.

I've no interest in IO5 but then I noticed the increase in packet loss on my TBBQM -

I wonder if it's a result of people rushing to download it?!?!?

Lance

I thought to myself earlier I wonder if the graphs will show the impact but couldn't be bothered to log in and check mine!

I'm in bed now so will try my update in the morning.

Mine is updated - just restoring apps, music, etc, but I'm already missing the jailbreak.  :(

I managed to get the latest version of iTunes by checking for updates but I can't get iOS 5. Perhaps it's no longer available because of the overloaded servers?

[EDIT] OK after running some diagnostics it appears iTunes isn't able to sync with my iPhone even though it does it every time I charge the phone. Restarting the phone brought it up as a device in iTunes. I don't think I've ever seen that before

Anyway the update failed, I'll try again later.

I had around ten failures after it extracted the file but then it did its thing.

The only issue I had since updating is missing apps, done a app restore through iTunes and got them back but had to put them into folders again.

Other than that and the errors I got because the server was busy, it went fine.

But it seems apple did this update different than the rest, it did a full restore/reset and then put the backups on your phone.

But I guess they had to do this because of the big changes in how iOS5 works (with updates over wifi etc)

Oh and I like the split keyboard on the iPad :)

I lost my entire camera roll updating, not happy about that  :(
Damned, if you do damned if you don't

Gary

iCloud is also so slow...Sensation XE looks more and more promising

Certainly it's busy I managed to move one Mobile Me account over earlier today but I've failed with the second account as the server is too busy.

My camera roll is there, but I've lost all other photo folders.  Luckily, I still have them on my PC.

It also reset my data settings, so I couldn't get mobile data this morning.

I don't like the Newsstand thing, which it seems you can't remove, and the Reminders app is basic at best.

Safari is much faster, though.

Early days, but 5/10 at the moment.

Ray

Now managed to get it installed on my Ipod, not a very good experience though with about 6 attempts to get the restore to work, thought I'd bricked it at one stage.  :eek4:
