cant get the BT tester to work to get some proper stats though

Steve

Have a read here Baz http://www.idnetters.co.uk/forums/index.php/topic,27147.0.html   ;D  I think you may have been switched if you can't get BT speedtest to work.

If your router shows vendor ID's then that's another way of telling if you've been switched to an LLU circuit.

It all depends on the router Baz. Some don't bother to show the information but if it does it will be four letters long. E.G TMMB

Baz

just checked my account page and it does indeed say my package is LLU.will see how it goes

sure it wasnt before.    good call IDnet  :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

keep up the good work

is there a 'give IDNet karma' option  :dunno:

Lance

You can certainly give Simon karma :)

Netgears don't show vendor ID Baz but at least you already know you're on LLU now.

Baz

dont know where to look in the settings for the vendor IDs

not important, I got a good service any ways as usual  :D

Baz

Thanks Griff  :thumb:

Baz

is there any way of finding out when you where switched over

Glenn

Call support and ask will be the quickest way.

Baz

ok thanks.

one other thing which might be related to this, I dont know really, my sons PS3 will now not connect

its wired through a switch then wired into the router downstairs

Technical Ben

Does it connect at all, or is it failing to log into Sony PSN? They have had a lot of account troubles recently. :(

Does he use port forwarding on the PS3? I don't know if there is a difference in requirement on BT and LLU?
I use to have a signature, then it all changed to chip and pin.

Baz

all we're getting at the minute is the PS3 is trying to get IP address but timing out.Dont think he uses port forwarding.

if it helps any it is set up this way..

router is downstairs with cable up to his bedroom this goes to a netgear switch then the PS3 is wired from this

Technical Ben

I would guess it needs port forwarding. Or the cable has fallen out/broken. Or the switch or cable has been swapped from "crossover" to "patch" by mistake. But it's been a while since I've had a games console, so I'm a bit foggy on the trouble shooting lists.  ???

Try it plugged into the router only, to narrow down where the fault could lie. :P
