I've seen via another forum that BT are replacing all the modems on pre-August Infinity installations. http://community.bt.com/t5/BT-Infinity/Infinity-Modem-Swap-amp-Kelly-Communications/td-p/332045

Does anyone know if will just apply to BT Infinity, or will it apply to all FTTC customers?

I would hope it is for all pre-August installs, as BT own the modems that are installed, irrespective of the ISP .

I posted a query on the PlusNet forum and staff just confirmed it is all the Openreach supplied modems not just those supplied with Infinity.

Thanks for the welcome.

Any idea what changed in August?

My install was in July, and I haven't had any modem related problems so far.

I have no idea as to why. My first modem lasted less than 10 days (it couldn't make a connection), but the current one has been happily running 24/7 since the middle of May.

Had the same one since my FTTC was installed in April, have had a few disconnects but always assumed it was the router or ISP (Sorry IDNet :red:)

I've had four modems now and the first one (August 2010) was probably the most reliable but OR insisted on swapping it!
