It's odd some say VM broadband is hopeless but some I know in the Bournemouth/Poole area love it and say they have never had a problem,the area is operated on the original NTL (NYNEX) infrastructure they probably did better installs then.

Not a particularly happy bunny re. making a decision. Usual probs of course, some people love brand X and others hate brand X.
New router technology doesn't really help either so decision made to nurse my present heap pending market movements especially where high def streaming is concerned.

Just thought I'd repost a suggestion as yesterday I got a new router after hearing how someone managed another 1mg of sync speed with it. I managed to get a sync speed of 7616 with it, even though 4 other routers have all been around 5100, 4800, 3700!!
It's kept the noise margin fairly steady too unlike previous ones where it would go from 15 to -2 and anywhere in between all through the day. I have noise, crackles, echos on my line and it needs to be fixed (again!) yet this router has made me sync at a higher speed than I've ever got.

Of course everyone gets different results with different routers but this one was only £36 and if u buy it online I believe you have a 7 day distance selling cool off and could send it back if no good for you.
It's a billion 5200G. I've got good signal strength in a fairly large, very old house with lots of walls too.
