Clearly, the OP is getting a lot of help on this forum. A year ago, I had a similar problem with my wife's new Kindle and found that there was a lot of discussion - and advice - about this issue on the Amazon UK Kindle Discussion page. The router that we had at the time was a Netgear 834. No problems though since we changed to a Fritz!Box.

If you can persuade BB to move to one, Ardua, you'll have to talk him through the setup. ;)

Many thanks to one andall, all problems solved, well as regards the Kindle anyway. Your page was the last brick in the wall Rik. I will take some persuading to leave my 2900 behind!
