Chrome and Cloud printing

This has been enabled now in the latest version of Chrome

What does it mean or what use is it. You can now print directly from the the Chrome browser to your cloud ready printer ( this can in fact be an ordinary classic printer http://support.google.com/cloudprint/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1686197) .

Formerly this was only achieved via the Chromebook. You can also print via the Cloud using an Android device or an IOS Device

BTW it does seem to work, I have a networked usb laser printer which I registered as a cloud printer from one of my machines , what I have yet to work out  is if I need that machine to be on. My guess,if it is asleep it may just get left in the print queue.

Funnily enough, I've just bought my first wireless printer - a Brother.  Not got it set up yet, as haven't had the time, but I'd just be using it with wifi, not Cloud.

The system would need to be running unless of course you enable Wake on LAN.

It's the ability to print from a mobile via the internet that interests me especially if you can't do it directly.
