Scratching my head over an Apple problem

Been trying to help a customer with a MacBook Pro running 10.7.2 Lion onstall IBM PASW statistics 18.

We've supplied the patches on the disk which IBM recommend applying to 10.6 and over to bring it up to 18.0.3 and an updated Java VM library file.

She said it worked perfectly under Snow Leopard and she left it in situ when she upgraded (which I'm beginning to think set up some problems)

However it started to crash so she uninstalled it (the program comes with an uninstall wizard) and then reinstalled.

When she tries to run the patch it stops with the error that it cannot detect the presence of PASW 18 even though the main installer worked without an issue and the program starts for a while then crashes.

I've requested a system information document and even that indicates the software is installed but the version is 18.0.0 so is not patched.

OS is operating in 64 bit mode althouth PASW is 32-bit.

Tried getting her to check for traces of the old install after uninstalling in the library folder but can't find anything.

Also tried placing the updated Java Dynamic Library File in the package before installing the patch, nada.

Anywhere else I can look for program fragements?

I've no experience of that program, does any of the information on this thread help at all.

IBM themselves say it should run, thanks for the link.

Might have to see what our support arrangement is with IBM.

I have no idea when it comes to Apple OSs... however, did you say the program uses Java? Has the Java support and updates not changed recently under the new OS? Does it require manual updating now?

Thanks, think I'm going to have to admit defeat on this one, customer did say they were having some other issues with the OS so may refer them to Apple.
