In a different part of the forum it is stated that a 'Broadcom' router is better for those of us switched to LLU. TBH, as a biologist who's moved to a legal-type career my technical knowledge of such things is negligible, so  I've no idea what even 'Broadcom' means.

My router is a Draytek Vigor2820Vn - Is it 'Broadcom'?

Trying to avoid wasting people's time, before asking here I tried searching to see if I can find the answer but  much of what I found seems to me to be alphabet soup!  :(

Anyway, if it helps, here are the router details:

Thanks, Griff, for the fast reply.
I guess I'll just have to make do with what I've got for awhile.

If you're after an Broadcom based router then look on ebay for a Netgear DG834GT. They can be picked up for less than £20.

My connection has been rock solid (even when I had a day or so of huge speed drop the weekenend before last) so would the only benefit of a Broadcom router be a speed increase? Given the above stats, is it possible to guesstimate what would be gained?

With those stats , 19M on 24db Attn, I doubt you'll get any improvement from a change of router.
The 2820Vn also provides voip and 3g backup faciliities and you're likely to lose those changing to another router.

Slightly off topic, but If you telnet to your Router and do show adsl command, that should reveal the DSLAM Chipset Vendor.  I know people sometimes like to match these up.  (i.e. Broadcom based Router and BDCM DSLAM).  Here's an example from my 2710:-

Thanks.  :)

Thanks for the telnet info.
From what you say it would seem the DSLAM is definitely Broadcom.
