Hi,
Just about to embark on the grand re-archiving of few years worth of files from numerous Cd's to more manageable DVD's and external HD but realising that I have many files saved several times I wander if anyone could recommend a good simple software that is able to compare files and find duplicates.
Cheers
and
Happy and healthy New Year!

Sorry I don't use one, there's a few available on Google, some free, no idea which to recommend though. Plus a happy NewYear to you.

Thanks Steve,
I have found so many free downloads searching the web I feel a bit lost (if not spoilt for choice) however, knowing which one is worth the bother is another matter  :dunno: hence my question.

I'd be interested in this too, so let us know if you find one, Steph.  :)

I have used this on a few occasions:-

http://doubles.sourceforge.net/

One of the big advantages it has is that it can find identical files that have been renamed as well.

Worked fine for me.
