Lol. I don't think a week of (Patch) Tuesdays would make me do that!

PS, nothing against a Mac, just the "shoe does not fit" in this case. :P
I use to have a signature, then it all changed to chip and pin.

Rik

Have you tried loosening the laces, Ben?  :out:

I think Apple have gone into hibernation I've not had an update offered for a long time. I think they exhausted themselves over iCloud , IOS5 and iTunes updates.

So you don't like something about Apple you mean. A high end laptop from Sony costs as much as an iMac, Den.
Damned, if you do damned if you don't

Rik

Please, not another platform war guys.  ;)

That's taking it a bit far don't you think Rik?

Next you'll be saying we should all buy from Donald Russell rather than our local butcher, oh wait....

Have you asked whether they are considering flotation and whether you could buy shares?

Rik

They aren't, but I've put my name now just in case. :)

:dunno: Is anyone else finding as I do that either:
1. if the patch install completes then following the required rebooting the PC hangs and needs rebooting again; or
2. only half of them install, the rest won't complete manually but then do so in one or two automatic phases over the following month, or months.

Or do you like well-trained dogs Windows users blame my other software!!

Simon

Mine seems to have installed fine.

I had problems with failed installs giving the following error codes:  0x80071a91 and/or 0x80070643
The following solution works with other error codes as well.
The solution was (Windows 7)

Start > Programs > Accessories
Right click 'Command Prompt' > run as Admin
In CMD window type
Fsutil resource setautoreset true C:\

Worked for me and many others  :thumb: it's worth a try

:) Thanks for the tip. They've now all installed this time, but I'll try it next month. My PCs are Vista - I don't have any problems with updates on the ancient XP laptop, though!

sobranie

My start up from cold has increased by around a minute since the updates.  Anyone else?

Niall

I've not seen any difference on this PC, or my mums little laptop/notebook thing.
