:dunno: Is anyone else finding as I do that either:
1. if the patch install completes then following the required rebooting the PC hangs and needs rebooting again; or
2. only half of them install, the rest won't complete manually but then do so in one or two automatic phases over the following month, or months.

Or do you like well-trained dogs Windows users blame my other software!!
I had problems with failed installs giving the following error codes:  0x80071a91 and/or 0x80070643
The following solution works with other error codes as well.
The solution was (Windows 7)

Start > Programs > Accessories
Right click 'Command Prompt' > run as Admin
In CMD window type
Fsutil resource setautoreset true C:\

Worked for me and many others  :thumb: it's worth a try

:) Thanks for the tip. They've now all installed this time, but I'll try it next month. My PCs are Vista - I don't have any problems with updates on the ancient XP laptop, though!

My start up from cold has increased by around a minute since the updates.  Anyone else?

I've not seen any difference on this PC, or my mums little laptop/notebook thing.

Thanks for replies.  A little digging is in order I think.
