Office 2010 Professional

I need a full licensed copy of Office 2010 Pro - DVD, box, key &c. And Not a Student/Academic version.

Any suggestions for the cheapest place to look.

Try it ... you get flooded with more dodgy sites than DelBoy knows about! I gave up after about 15-20 minutes of trying to filter it.

As for a second hand copy - what guarantees are there that it will install on two devices without problems? I don't need the hassle.

I have no idea of price comparisons, but I've found Ebuyer and Redstore.com quite good for OEM software.

Personally, I'd go for an open office option. Really, I've given up wanting to use microsoft a looong time ago.

I think the point is, for a business, your only legally allowed to use the professional version.
Although, is there an option for a sole trader to use the "home" edition? (IE does Home edition cover "businesses up to 3 employees" or something?)

That's kinda why I mentioned open source. I hate getting roped in to the ties that these companies now want to put on man + dog.

Home and Business - could be used but excludes MS Access and the spreadsheets that need 2010 link to Access files too and there is no time to try anything else.

That one is H&B ... their Pro is £340!

Most places have Pro at £340-350 - except one who are quoting £130, yes the website says £156 and they show an image of Pro along with contents. That is too cheap to be true ... If I could get it for £250 inclusive - I'd be happy.

Just rather p**d off as we had originally bought 2007 and planned for that to be installed for another year or two. It is fine for 99.9% of the time, just one set of spreadsheets that will not run - even with the viewer and patches. MS have got rid of the "Update" versions and only sell new copies!

Amazon are slightly cheaper at £336.56 inc delivery

I use Microsoft Excel 2003 at work and tried a spreadsheet with Open Office some years ago but there were unacceptable differences.

This spreadsheet causes Excel 2003 to crash requiring a full reboot. 2007 open it but cannot display ... people have tried OO and sometimes it partially opens and then with errors ...

And having Excel and Access 2010 with Word and PPT in 2003 or 2007 will not work! And is not much cheaper!

The download version is still running at around £265 ...

Next you'll expect them to deliver a working product...

PS, I can only expect that to be a con at those prices. Either they run with the money, or they are selling Chinese versions (Win 7 probably sells for the equivalent of £45 in yuan there die to market factors, not conversion). When you load it, and windows finds out your not on a Chinese system/country it will probably throw a "Windows Genuine Advantage" wobbly. That and the character set might be confusing. Oh, or they could be reselling corporate keys, which will also get your copy blocked.

PPS, Could you not get someone to convert the files for you? Else you're sadly gonna have to stump up the price (or is there a demo of Office 360 yet??!!!)

Conversion will not work! It has been tried - in Excel 2010 save in older format warns that some will not be saved correctly &c and then opening immediately shows problems. There is no option but to buy, just want a decent price!

AAHH!! the old conundrum what we want and what we can actually get. I think you will have to settle for paying the higher prices for the product you want, there seems to be no option. All the best in your search but I think you're stumped on this quest.
