Windows Easy Transfer (All Programs > Accessories > System Tools) should do everything you need.

I needed to do the same as Den last October and I found Windows Easy Transfer to be quite nerve-wracking - see this thread: http://www.idnetters.co.uk/forums/index.php/topic,27235.msg648848.html#msg648848

Probably the best thing to do it walk away and let it get on with it, perhaps just checking every so often to make sure things haven't ground to a complete halt.

I'm sure that's right. I've just remembered something else though. Somehow I ended up with hundreds of music files all in triplicate and then I found that trying to delete batches of more than a dozen or so replicates at a time didn't work. Here's hoping Den has better luck :fingers:

Windows Easy Transfer worked like a dream. Office 2010 would not let me acctivate it but I will contact Microsoft on Friday and hopefully all will be well. The new machine is much faster and even things such as Works 9 now runs which it would not do on my old machine.  ::)  Decided to run windows update and it found 52 of them  :eek4:
