I was receiving e-mails OK up until 3pm this afternoon. Since then it has been quiet. I have just sent a couple of test messages to myself and then went OK but haven't re-appeared. I have turned on a second computer and it has downloaded all messages up to 3pm . No error messages whatsoever and IMessage (MacOSX) is not working. I am confused - never seen this one before. Similar thing on an IPhone with wifi turned off. Any thoughts?

EDIT

Just sent a further message to myself from webmail and it went OK but it hasn't re-appeared in my In Box.

I have sent a couple to one of my accounts and nothing has arrived. I thought I had done something wrong as I was setting up a new smartphone.

Thanks Den - I confess that I haven't seen this before. Normally, Apple mail gives some indication of failure.

Bill

Same here. Tried a couple of test emails, one from an IDNet account, one from a 1&1 account, they went OK but didn't arrive.

incoming IDNet.com email appears to be a black hole again...  :(  outgoing to other addresses seems OK.

Naturally, it's happened just before the weekend!

Normally if this happens it's because of extremely large volumes of spam clogging up the servers. When this happens there are delays to email.

Fair point, I'd forgotten about spam attacks. I'll hope it's that, and wait and see what happens.

I'm also seeing this problem.  Hopefully I'm not losing any e-mails and they'll turn up eventually?

Agreed. When they come in a burst like this it just shows how much junk gets into my inbox. Time for a cull - me thinks.

Simon

Just received 168 emails to one of my IDNet accounts, so I guess there must have been a blockage that's now cleared.
