Hi All

I don't post here very often but I do drop in to read up on what's going on. I have been an Idnet customer for over a year now and very happy in general with the service. I just tried to sign my son up for his first email address with Idnet. I logged into my account on the main page and then clicked on the 'Email' button. However the page doesn't load up it just sits there waiting. Am I doing something wrong? Also one more question if I may? My wife and myself still have the user@idnetfreemail.co.uk email addresses. Is there any advantage to changing to the idnet.com addresses? Thanks for your help, keep up the good work.

Rik

Hi Stevie

The email page has an intermittent problem on it, which always manifests at weekends, when there's no one around to give the server a good kicking. I'll let support know.

There are no technical advantages to the new email addresses, but the user@idnet.com does, generally, look better to recipients. IMO, it's worth making the change. You can then log into the webmail interface of the idnetfreemail address(es) and set them up to forward to your new email. That will pick up waifs and strays, and when you reply, most people will automatically add you to their address books.

Hi Rik

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll try it again later, maybe working by then.

Cheers

Hi Stevie

Unfortunately, you just missed Simon, otherwise I suspect he'd be giving the server a stern talking to by now. :)

Hopefully, it will be back up later tonight.

I tried it again last night and this morning but still not working. I'll keep trying later today and maybe it will be fixed.

Rik

It may not get sorted until Monday, Stevie, as it requires manual intervention. As support don't work at weekends, it's a matter of luck as to whether the server gets kicked before Monday morning.

I think the email operator sleeps at his desk when they all go home for the weekend.  Perhaps one day they will unshackel him and let him wander around for a bit. ;D ;D :banana2: :out:

Working now. Perhaps we should all have a whip round and buy Simon a new server. Thanks for your help

I'll see how much it would cost if you like, Stevie?  ;)

But if I did, I'd have to charge the rest of you to access it, Cav!  >:D
