I guess I won't be buying a MacBook Pro with retina display at a mere £1800 for starters. Mind you I guess you need apps that will  support that resolution otherwise it's pointless.


Can't say I'm that surprised that non of the new MacBook Pro has an optical drive. I did think it was coming but perhaps not quite so soon.

It's only the Retina display MacBook Pros that have a solid state drive, the new old style MacBook Pros still come with a hard drive (but I expect not for much longer)

I like the look of the new map app, but I wonder if it will lose Streetview, I find this very useful with the Google maps Apple currently use.


Edit: Sorry Steve I misread your post, they have removed the optical drives seems odd, I use mine a lot for watching DVDs.
