Getting the good old CHAP authentication failed again, quite annoying seeing as Diablo 3 comes out tonight and I may have arranged the next couple of days around it! Just wondering if this is my problem, or if anyone else is getting the same?

Thanks

It's not just you, it's down for me as well in North London.

Well this sucks. The one night I want the internet the most, and it goes down! Any idea on how long it usually takes for them to fix the problem?

zappaDPJ

Mine just came back up. Having checked the rest of the staff BQMs it appears that quite a number of us (but not all) are having problems tonight.

[EDIT] Try rebooting your modem.

[EDIT 2] I feel your pain. It took me an hour to get past Blizzard authentication at which point my connection died.

PS: These forums are about as responsive as a dead dog just now :rant2:

I'm fed up getting "waiting for" nearly every night after 11pm. Is it me or is it Idnet.? ???

Must have rebooted my router about 10 times in the last hour! Will wait one more hour before calling it a night,
Thanks

Rik

Mine's down right now, but my Telefonica connection is fine, so I'd bet on a BT issue.

If it's the forum you are referring too Lona, it's the server it resides on that's the problem. It's completely unusable overnight and not much better during the day to be honest.

Sorry I can't be of more help Westy. As Rik says it's probably a BT issue that's out of IDNet's control. Given the timing of it it's probably down to planned engineering works. The type that's planned but kept secret from everyone it might affect :rant2:

That AAISP report confirms what I saw- down around 00:15, back up around 01:45.

I called the OOH support... don't think I'll bother again.

I preferred the old system when you took a chance on someone in the server room(?) picking the phone up- at least they didn't ask if your VPI/VCI etc settings in the router were OK after you'd told them you were on a fibre connection :dunno:

I've always wondered why IDnet doesn't have an automatic status page like AAISP.

It seems odd having to check another ISP status page for an update  :-X

Rik

It's not even on the RSS feed this morning.

It wouldn't be much help to me as I don't have a backup internet connection, but it's a valid point.

If the net goes down I just use my phone to browse to AAISP and look for the issue, its sad that IDnet do not have such a good status update page, then again if it was down to OOH to update the page with information god only knows what they would put up. They once told me the whole of the net was down due to BT, not quite the case  ::) They are as much use as a chocolate teapot.  :sigh:

You could search on eBay, but why would you want one?  :)x

I've had one for years- it can make and receive calls, send and receive texts, that's all I want from a phone :P

I've (very) occasionally thought that a phone in my camera might be useful, but a camera in my phone... naah.

Nope your right it was the later 3330. I'm not sure I could go back to 160 character texts, but at least it gets a good signal and has great battery life.

Last night at 11pm my mates line died and he's in London. He was getting huge packet loss for a while too. I installed diablo3 and went to bed, so I don't know what happened after that :D My connection seemed fine in Wrexham.

Oh. I thought it might be the local exchange getting an upgrade. I guess I'm too hopeful.  :P
