Hi chaps, I just wanted to pass on my experiences, I live in a newish house (5 years old), and over the years I have had connection problems and when I have contacted idnet I have had the standard.. check your internal wiring sounds like noise etc.

I am shortly to move to BT infinity, see previous thread - because of the uncapped use and price. It has caused me to look at the master socket and the faceplate. To cut a ling story sort I think a lot of my problems have been caused by my faceplate on the master socket (original BT)

I've got a new faceplate off ebay and my connection is very stable because the connections in the IDC connectors are much better

In short I reckon idnet should not investigate faults unless the router/modem is connected to the master BT socket behind the faceplate

That's what we always ask the user to do if possible, to rule out the internal wiring.

Good luck with the move, no need to be a stranger.
