TBH, Wilf, that's a brand and store (I'm assuming it came from PC World?) that I would have avoided like the plague.

That or Currys, ( same cr*ppy company ) same view here Rik,  TBH if Wilf had have asked which Laptop's to avoid, the Packard Bell's would have been top of my list.

Indeed. Even if buying a premium brand, eg HP, Toshiba etc, I would avoid DSG. Their idea of their responsibilities under the Sale and Supply of Goods Act is sketchy, to say the least.

That's a shame, Wilf. I try to get most things mail order, as you then have the Distance Sellings regs to play with. If the lappy was mis-described in any way, or if you asked for advice and were recommended to it but it does not meet the criteria you set, you might still have a case.
