Anyone else in the North London area with problems? We lost connectivity at the stroke of midnight.

[Edit] Now it's back up ::)

The timing suggests BT engineering work.

In NW London all was fine but at around 02:00, the forum was no where to be found!

I'm desperately trying to figure out why kamikaze pilots wore helmets.

pctech

They have to do the engineering sometime.

Gary

Zen has a long list of maintenance work that's going on right now, could be any of those.

Could you ping it, or was it simply unresponsive? We back up around that time.

Totally unresponsive several attempts over a 10 minutes period with the standard time out response ... did not try pinging, but had a single malt and off to bed!

Lance

I believe 2am is the database back-up time which causes the forum to become unresponsive, usually only for 5 mins or so.

Having a single malt and going to bed seems like a much better idea anyway!  ;)

The thing is, I don't know if it is engineering works because it's happening every night. I had a similar problem a year ago which continued for a couple of months.

Indeed and with BT's obscure routing who knows where its breaking down.
