2 small Quicken problems with windows 7

They are no big deal, but knowing the level of expertise in this forum I thought someone might have a solution.
On loading Windows 7 Quicken reminder comes up, strangely it usually loads 2 copies, though sometimes only one, I cannot see why. Secondly I like to set automatic backup evrytime I load Quicken, but this does not work, I set the required switch to "1" but it only asks for a backup every second time,  it used to work fine with previous Windows,. I know it is an old version of Quicken, but it is familiar and does all I want. Any suggestions?
