Oddly, after they announced they'd fixed it, I saw a load of people on Facebook that previously didn't have any problems, all starting to post saying they now have problems. That's sods law :D

Apparently the issue was due (according to The Register) to an Ericsson Centralised User Database system, which had replaced the function performed by the Home Location Register servers (among other things)
