QuoteAccount details for millions of players have been stolen in a hack attack on Blizzard, the maker of World of Warcraft, StarCraft and Diablo.

Blizzard revealed details of the breach in a message posted to its Battle.net account management service.

Although this appears to be a frank and honest admission by Blizzard, I'm left wondering how deep this rabbit hole goes.

Is it time to back out of the net all together? Go offline except for non-registered services?
I use to have a signature, then it all changed to chip and pin.

Well the reality of life is that people will always want to pinch your stuff be it on-line or off so you just have to be alert to all eventualities ;)

I imagine the backlash from this will be huge, financially for Blizzard. People didn't want the single player game to force you to be online, now details have been stolen as a result of being forced to do this. I think I'm done with Blizzard to be honest. The fact that they've immediately admitted this means it's very bad. Normally they just ignore the paying customers, hoping the flak will die down, but in doing this, you know it's very serious. Clearly they do not have the ability to manage the systems they force on us.
