Has Idnet changed it's mail settings. I can get mail in but can't send any.?

I've checked my settings and nothing has changed.

The rejected e-mail address was 'euanxxxxxx@hotmail.com'. Subject 'test', Account: 'pop3.idnet.com', Server: 'smtp.idnet.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '451 4.3.5 Server configuration problem', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 451, Error Number: 0x800CCC79

I'm having the same problem.    I'm receiving messages but can't send any to any address.  :dunno:

Anyone else having problems sending e-mail?  We can receive fine on both accounts, but get error code 0x800CCC79 when we try to send.  The addresses are valid, and we have SMTP authentication enabled on our Outlook Express.  I then tried sending when connected to my college VPN, but that didn't work either (though I could send from my college Outlook account).  I've rung IDNet, but the out-of-hours people are on call rather than IDNet staff.

Have just seen two similar messages in the Broadband section - I'm not the only one having problems tonight.

Brian and Lona - you were not alone.  I too was experiencing the same difficulty, but not now!

Steve

I've just sent one via smtp.idnet.com perhaps the problem has been resolved.  :dunno:

Lona is it a good idea to post an email address on here in your first post.

Steve
