I wonder how long the old packages will remain in place.

The new "Lite" is more expensive than the old one (previously £15.31 +Vat) and the new PSTN Line rental, for Line, plus unlimited evening and weekend calls, with Caller ID, is also more expensive, previously £11.91 +Vat, now works out at £13.75 + Vat.

So I'll stick for now. But if my old package increases in price, then I will have to go elsewhere.

No changes to the old packages, they stay as they always have been.

Yes, it detects and adjusts its layout for iPhones. You can swipe to change pages and double-tap to magnify.

Looking at the PSTN line products line rental has decreased but call packages have increased, does this affect existing customers?

On my Android phone you can't side scroll, so magnifying the text just leaves it with bigger text, but no ability to move around the screen.

UPDATE

I seem to be able to move around the screen now, not sure if anything was changed or just user error.

the old packages remain the same...does that mean they are still on peak and off peak allowance where as the new ones aren't

No offense, but looks poor IMO. It might be FF not rendering it properly, but I get a massive image, and a tiny bit of text. Menus/navigation all overlayed and muddled.

Hopefully it's just teething problems. I hate HTML myself, and find it never works when I try it.

PS, I blame tablets/touch devices. The old site was fine!

early days I know but sorry guys, not sure if I like it yet, I have too much navigation to get too what I want with the drop down and extra scrolling etc.

seems very business orientated too if that makes sense, not much for the everyday home user

The mouseover issue I reported just looks like someone forgot to include or upload a script

Internet explorer renders fonts different, have you tried another browser to see if its the same? What page you looking at?

yes Paul, I usually use FF but tried IE for curiosity and got the fault.Its ok in FF

Was looking at the home page and any page from a link the text looks bad in IE

It seems a bit clunky on smart phones, I've had a few issues with zooming and moving, it just seems to get stuck sometimes.

But I'm guessing it will be worked on next week.

I have to say I can see some people having issues negotiating the new website, my mother got lost straight away, its so business orientated, it seems like it may put customers off tbh. People like clean simple selections, not 'guess what product I have' why finding two or three ways to get there too

That's it. I give up on the entire internet. It's too complicated for old fogeys like me now. I don't have all these touchy feely screens to put on my lap. I just want a terminal and some data to chew.

As IDNET is business focused I'd think it likely that they would build to appeal to the CTO/CIO crowd.

There's no mention of IDnetters on there anywhere either.

I have asked three peeps now who just found the site bewildering, they could not find the simple BB and phone products because they don't speak techno babble.

IE7 looking abit broken.

But I don't know what browsers you are supporting.

IE8 is reporting a script error, same as the one seen in the images above.

I agree and think this marks a shift in their strategic direction to become even more business focussed than they currently are. The average domestic user is simply not prepared to pay for support/lack of congestion/etc; for them price and bandwidth are the primary determinants of buying decisions.

When you are up against the big boys who can offer economies of scale then for the smaller ISP this is the way forward since to a business user who is reliant on broadband and communications for survival, quality service is worth the premium.

The packages could almost have been designed to deter the average domestic user........
