Hi there guys.....yes I didn't jump ship.......I just moved to the new more expensive Tariff of Fibre Pro Plus with a downloading cap of 200Gbs and so far so good. I looked at all the options and came down on the side of Idnet. When you look at all the options it comes down to reliability and Idnet has bundles of it. Are they value for money......well that is a difficult question. If you are thinking cheap and cheerful then the answer is a definite NO......they aren't cheap but at the same time they aren't the dearest. If you want cheap then I would say BT Infinity....what put me off them was their incompetence with my mothers Broadband connection....it took for ever to connect and then they promised £40 compensation which never happened....still waiting. Zen, looked good but they were slightly dearer by about 50p....better to stay with the  you know than move to someone I had no experience off. Xilo also seemed to be good but they included uploading with their download figures.....no that wouldn't work for me
So I have stayed put....thanks to all that took part in my two closed discussions.....I finally made a decision and I think it is the right one

Oh I'm sure you are wondering how I dealt with my eldest daughters excess downloading, well I just asked her to pay £10 a month towards the new tariff of £45 a month and she readily agreed, (the other daughter didn't get away either as I have asked her for £5....but she is a poor Student....so I'll probably not bother with that  ;) ) so all is well and ends well

Yeah until/unless BE decide to enter the FTTx arena (not very likely it now seems) I think I'll stay with IDNet. I don't currently use anywhere near the 15GB peak I already have but I'm thinking of switching to Fibre Pro. It's an extra £7pcm but that's close enough to 'unlimited' for me to stop giving a damn and shake off the slightly guilty feeling I get when I use my connection.
