DVD Conversion Software

Does anyone know of any Windows software which will convert DVDs (legally - they're of a wedding) to h264 or alternative format that is compatible with either iMovie or FCP?  It will need to run on Win7 or possibly 8.

I'm looking for something that will do a top quality job.
