Outlook Rik.

If Chrome has been installed try this

http://www.sevenforums.com/microsoft-office/126850-outlook-2010-e-mail-hyperlinks-not-working-2.html

This happens to some folks after installing the Google Chrome browser. If that applies to you then do this and it should fix the problem.

1 Remove Chrome

2 Go to Mozilla
3 Downloaded latest Firefox
4 Run Firefox and allow it to automatically make itself the default browser
5 Open Tools - Internet Options – Programs and make IE the default web browser
6 Close IE
7 At this point you can either uninstall Firefox nor leave it in case you decide to use it at a later date
All your links should now work correctly.

There is another way which takes 10 seconds if you are comfortable in the registry which restores the keys chrome has destroyed.

I've fixed this problem a few times. I'm not sure what causes it and I've seen it occur under all browser types. I had it happen on a laptop after an O/S update.

It's caused by incorrect settings. Either of these Microsoft support suggestions should fix the issue: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310049

Isn't there an option in outlook that can actually stop links from working? I'm sure an older version I had, had the option to do that in the security settings. Unless of course it was from a security program I was running.

Outlook displays email as plain text if for example they caught by the spam filter.

If you have run Ccleaner that can sometimes bork a registry entry that leads to this sort of behaviour.  You can also go to http://fixitcenter.support.microsoft.com/Portal/FindSolutions  to get some help.

I think Zap may have edited your post in error, thinking it was his own, Niall.

Ah... so that's where it went. I had an issue with the forum timing out and I thought I'd lost the reply. So yeah, I must have hit the wrong button, apologies for that
