iTunes 11 is now on software update  :thumb: Seems to be working fine, and its fast too and it wasn't slow on Macs anyway. You can get the side bar menu and status bar back if you want but I like the new look tbh.

Hmm... it's certainly changed :o

I think I prefer it, but I also suspect I'm going to miss the CoverFlow display. Unless I just haven't found it yet? :dunno:

If you search for it in the Help it returns:

No help topics were found for 'coverflow'

It's there in the iTunes store view but that's it I think.

I suspect they've biased it much more towards touchscreen devices, where CoverFlow might have been a bit of a liability. Certainly the "Grid" views are much more suited to those. Pity.

Underneath it still seems pretty much like v10 with a few exra options. I see there's now a "Home Video" media type :P

As usual after a  major update, it's going to be mainly a matter of wanting to use an option and then trying to find where they've hidden the blasted thing this time ;D

Coverflow is still available on iPhone and iPad though Bill, I imagine maybe not that many people used it maybe, or they have tried also to unify the 'look' with Lion/Mountain Lion.

There could be any number of reasons, of varying validity. I miss it though, I liked that display. Ah well.

Another minor niggle- the mini-player seems to have lost its volume control!

Edit- I like the "What's Next" facility though, I'll trade the volume control for that.

Digital camera raw update 4.0.2 also released.

I suspect 11.1 will have an all white UI to match the Macs casing.

White, really? I guess you maybe need a refresher course on Macs built since 2005, as only one is actually white still and thats a Mac mini...  ::)

You've got me there Gary, my mini is aluminium, have they changed again?

Thats the point, its simple Niall. If you want to make it look like before just add the bits you want back via the settings.

Nope you are right, they are Aluminium, posting before coffee is a bad move  ;D  So thats no Macs with white casings since 2005 then except the Mac Mini in 2010 that had a white top to it...

We have two 27 inch macs in the office and the main case looks pretty darn white to me

Stevescat

I'm using a Mac with Mountain Lion.

You know how in previous versions of iTunes you could paste album art into the box at the bottom left corner when an album was selected, well....for ***** sake will someone tell me how to do this in iTunes11? It's driving me nuts!!! I've done the right click on an album in album view, clicked on 'Get Info' and then pasted in the window that opens, but it doesn't work. I'm getting to like the new version but honestly, this is insane. :bawl:

Oddly, I had that in a previous version.  The artwork didn't appear in the box, but actually did on the iPod.  :dunno:

I've just added artwork 300x300 on ML > Get Info > Double click Artwork> select file

Ah ha! Steve, your reply has sorted it. The album I was attempting to add art to, had the 'Lyrics' and 'Artwork' button greyed out (?) I was trying to paste into the artwork box in the 'Summary' window! Duh! :red:

Many thanks,
Steve

So, how do you get it like it was before, when you had the list of albums and tracks (not just the grid of covers), with the artwork displayed?  At the moment, I'm hating this.  The text is too big, and there's not enough on display without clicking and scrolling all over the place.   :bawl:

pctech

Installed it this morning before heading out to work and been playing about with it tonight (the Windows version), it's not that bad but aside from a UI refresh I can't see any new features.

Simon

Does anyone know how to stop the tutorial popping up each time Windows starts?  I suspect there should be a tick box to 'Don't show again', but I can't find it.
