Decided to check IDnet packages as i haven't for months and I'm confused..

We are being charged £35.74 for "home supermax" (180GB/40GB peak). When i check using my phone number there is no "home supermax" anymore ? But there is a "pro plus" which is 200GB(60GB peak?)

What happened with home super max? Have they all changed? If so , why was we not changed onto pro plus?

Steve

The new packages were released mid October along with the new look website. I thought they were doing a email mail shot but I don't recall receiving one, however the situation is that you can stay on your original package or you can ask for a change to one of the new packages. It still the same 30 day contract for adsl.

There is no peak or off peak with the new packages.

thanks for the reply,

We normally go over the limit, but just accept this, and pay the £10~ extra. I am somewhat disappointed I wasn't informed of the package changes (Checked email) as that means we have been billed £20/25~ more than if we would have changed when alerted to package changes (Highly likely). Am I being unreasonable?

Other than allowance and slight price, is there any difference between the packages?

Steve

I think I would be disappointed too, there's no difference between old and new apart from cost and loss of off peak /peak.

Sounds to good to be true.... What's the catch ?

I'll see if they can do anything about the unnecessary over charge.

Steve

The catch is if memory serves me right is that you'll lose the 832kbps upload on home supermax and end up at 448kbps unless you pay more for traffic priority.

I too have just discovered the new packages. Why weren't we informed? I only received the usual monthly "Peak Bandwidth Notification" in October and November - no mention that I could avoid the recurring monthly extra charges by switching to a new package. 200GB a month will suit me down to the ground so I'll switch after the New Year festivities are over...hic!

Steve

Only IDNet know why existing customers have not been directly informed of the new packages

When you change packages, make sure IDNet know that they haven't informed customers of the package changes, it may prompt them to send out a mail shot which could help other customers.
