QuoteVodafone UK subscribers with an iPhone 4S who haven't upgraded to iOS 6.1 may want to hold off on doing so. The carrier is currently sending out text messages to customers stating that there's a bug in the new firmware.

I think there's probably something in that I've had some 3G issues last week but it's been ok this week.

Odd that there is a bug affecting only one carrier. I've not had any problems on my 4 so that S must make all the difference.

Could be where the signal is marginal/weak.

Lance

But that could be the case for any carrier  :dunno:

My 3G signal is flaky here anyway, so I've not noticed any difference.

:dunno: unless its something specific to the brand of network kit used on their network.

This would mirror what I've been saying since the upgrade. I'm wondering whether the sending emails via 3G failing via idnet (from my idnet email account) on my iphone 4s is related to this rather than the idnet server rejecting the email.

I only got my reply to support sent off when I connected to free wifi in the pub on Friday afternoon. That being said, sending email via my phone on hotmail was fine.

Are you with Vodafone, Niall?

Having first thought my battery was fading quicker then before, then thinking it wasn't, I now think it is.  I got up this morning, having had the phone on charge all night, as usual, and after about 10 minutes use, checking here, reading / deleting emails, and sending a couple of texts, it was down to 86%.  I've now closed all apps, and will charge again overnight, to see if it does the same in the morning.

Is this meant to effect the 5 as well? Not noticing any issues with 3G here, then again on O2 finding 3G signals in this area is rare. Battery life seems as good as usual.
Damned, if you do damned if you don't

Yeah I'm with Vodafone. I'm wondering if the update conflicts with how their network operates.

I'm with O2.  My 3G seems no different, but my battery is definitely suffering.

I get that battery thing on the odd update. I think some apps cause it because when I see updates to apps after an OS update suddenly the issue goes away. It's because of this that I keep apps to a minimum.

I'm making more of a point of closing them.

Looks like an updated version will be out soon if it is already in test.
