......the Gig Circuit failure has demanded my attention for the best part of the day.

Has this fault completely cleared now?  I'm finding several sites that I'm unable to access - although for some reason this one appears fine.

Ray

I had the same problem and found that rebooting the router fixed it, Tac.

Spoke to Brian, he told me to disconnect & reconnect.

It sorted my issues out with loading sites etc.

Hi Tacitus, All,

The problem is continuing but engineers are working on it. We had a brief issue where the CPU on the fail over GW2 was struggling about an hour ago but Simon has found a way to utilise GW4 to do half the job making the CPU on GW2 a lot happier.

BT have been working on the issue all day and we have escalated to the highest possible level. We are confident they are doing everything possible to get the issue resolved but service continues on GW2 in the mean time.

Kind regards,

Miriam

Hi Miriam:

Thanks for the update.

@Paul  @Ray   Did a reboot and that seems to have fixed it.  Just had a phone call from Sis to say she is having problems with her iDNet line, so suggested she do a reboot as well.  Not heard anything else so I assume all is now well.

Steve

Certainly a drop of PPP and reconnect on FTTC solved my connectivity issues.

My connection has dropped again. Divorce is on the cards if I can't get it back tonight.

Mine is down. Went earlier today too but a router reboot sorted it. Now I'm getting the BT wholesale page.

Mine is also down with a 172.16. IP address.

Was updating a website when it went down, hopefully nothing got corrupted :/

Not sure if related but mine dropped at around 1848 . I am 01273 south east... It's not resolving anything at all

Simon

I've just lost all connectivity too.

Most likely. Mine went down at 18:42.

Lost service a few minutes ago. Router reboots not having any effect

I've only just got back in the house after popping out for an hour. My laptop complained about not having DNS at first but seems to have sorted itself out now. Seems rather odd actually - I was only going to the BBC site and the DNS cache had plenty of time left on it.

Oh yeah. TBBQM is showing a big break while I was out. Ha ha - missed me!

I've spoken to support (not out of hours). They are aware of what appears to be a complete outage but couldn't give an eta on a fix.

Are we back? Maybe...

No divorce for me then. Damn!

Im in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire and my internet has been on/off thoughout today. I rebooted my router but it does not help. All the lights are green, but nothing happens for about 10-15mins then it comes back on again  ::)

Bill

A bit early to be sure, but my BQM's look a lot better now- maybe it was BT putting the "dead" link back online?

Been having intermittent packet loss for much of the afternoon and evening and just lost connectivity myself, too. Rebooted the router and :fingers: it's worked.

Interestingly, I was trying to log into Second Life at the time, and the viewer - being unable to load the webpage - gave me the following page instead:

Never seen that before  :eyebrow:

IDNet network status page:

When trying to fix the primary broadband circuit BT managed to kill the backup circuit too. This dropped all customer connections!

They have now restored the backup circuit and are still working on the primary.

A BT engineer who has been tasked to investigate the problem with the primary link that failed this morning, managed to break the backup link!
He has now restored that service and is still working on the primary link problem.
Bloody BT!
