I got up this morning and found my phone had a wifi connection, but no Internet, so checked the computer and also no internet.  All the lights on the router were correctly green, but I rebooted it anyway, and Internet was restored.  Anyone else?

Heard it on the radio the other day.  Great drummer, Toyah had, now in Saxon.  :)

Saxon still going, Wow. Saying that so are Judas Priest.

Indeed.  All looking a little tired these days.  ;D  Oddly enough, even as a fan of the genre, I was never particularly into either of those bands, although I did see Saxon live once or twice in the 80s.

I saw UFO a few times, and quite liked them.  They're still going too!

I've been away, but just checked my router logs and:-

[Internet disconnected] Tuesday, March 26,2013 02:03:12

then up and down for a few hours until:-

[Internet connected] IP address: xx.xxx.x.xxx, Tuesday, March 26,2013 05:43:34

I'm on an 01202 number if that's any significance. All seems well for the past 38 hrs though.......

Simon

I had one other blip that evening, and had to reboot the router again, but it's been fine since.  I'm in Mid Sussex.

This is still happening, randomly, but seemingly at least once every day or so.  The router lights all stay on, and it appears as though I'm connected, but with no Internet.  I'm beginning to think it's the router, as I tried reconnecting without rebooting this evening, and when I disconnected, the red light then came on on the router, and it wouldn't reconnect without a reboot.  This is a newish Netgear DGN2200v3.  I'm thinking of going back to my old 2Wire, but am equally tempted to try something new.  I've been looking at the Billion 7800N, but some of them just seem to be 7800 without the N.  Is there a difference?

Without the N is a non wireless version.

I've been running the 7800n since getting FTTC and its been rock solid.

Gary

7800N is a great router from what I read but with more devices coming out using 5Ghz I would look for a dual band router myself. I'm using a DGND4000 and very happy with that. The iPhone is happier I find on the 5Ghz band for a start.

Sorry Gary, I'm not sure in what context 5Ghz is relevant.  :dunno:  All I want is for it to stay connected to the bloody Internet!  ;)
