Picked this up in a Mac OS X Hints RSS:

QuoteApparently Apple has included a pre-release version of Siri in 10.8.3. While I've gotten Siri to work in Stickies, it doesn't seem to be accessible from any other OS X apps. This may be a mistake; it may be testing code that was not removed from the final release, and this may explain why 10.8.3 went through so many betas.

To turn on Siri in Stickies, run the following Terminal command:

defau1ts write com.apple.stickies personalAssistant -bool true

After you run this command, launch Stickies, and, while pressing the Option key, press the fn key twice. A small popup will appear in the current note with an icon similar to the Siri icon on iOS. Speak into your Mac's microphone - either an internal or external mike - and Siri will do your bidding.

Anyone know anything about it or tried it?

No Bill not tried it, rarely use it on the phone or iPad as I forget it's there. Perhaps I should use it as I spend a fair amount of time it appears talking to myself.

I had a thought after posting- maybe the date should be borne in mind...

My usual cynicism was a bit slow off the mark today :P

It's about the most useless and frustrating feature on the iPhone.  I'm only glad I didn't pay for it as an app.

I've never used it, but I couldn't really see the point when I first heard about it... although I sometimes talk to my computers.

More accurately, I sometimes talk at them... and I'd hate to think they understood what I was saying :eek4:

Just wait for it to start the conversation, then you will be worried.

I use it to dictate emails and set up reminders and calendar events etc, its useful when in a car as its easier than tapping out a text. Also for things like quick conversions of units its useful. Its quicker than typing.
Damned, if you do damned if you don't
