Samsung Tablet choices/recommendations?

Hi all

considering a tablet purchase for the flexibility of using it at home and other places.  plus my desktop pc is very old and out of date.

not into apple and wont pay the silly money for an iPad.

heard the samsungs are good ?  a friend was going to buy one at the weekend so waiting to see if they did and then hopefully get a play on it.

would want the biggest screen possible so the 10.1" would make sense.

anyone got one or recommend a different make/model ?

Just to throw a spanner in the works, have you considered the Nexus 10 that Samsung make for Google http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/galaxy-tab/GT-P8110HAEXAR, it has possibly the best display resolution available on a tablet?

only just started to look Glenn so apart from an iPad anything is in the frame as a possible 

what are the key criteria to look for when buying one ?  ie screen resolution ? memory ? battery life ? processor type/speed (dual/quad core) ?

wondering what to really concentrate on and what aspects to compromise on......i assume they all support WiFi and mobile data 3G internet connection?

oh and another question : what is the difference between a samsung galaxy Note and Tab ?

Only had a brief play but for the price it's functional as a browser,email device not a patch on the iPad which I compare it  in terms of build quality,screen resolution and performance. Like most things in life you get what you paid for.
