I thought I would show a customer how to setup a new email address. Turns out, BT have changed/removed options in their accounts settings. They don't even match their own instruction pages.  :rant2: :shake: :eyebrow: :bawl: :slap:
Still, got what we needed done, but took twice as long for "hunting the hidden/mouseover/popup menu" and "finding the button no longer exists". To add to that, the account did not work, then after finding no trouble shooting tools (remember, the button is no longer available in account settings to check anything  ), turns out it worked fine 10 mins later. So can only put the delay/errors down to the account taking a while to setup.

Not to mention everything is done through Yahoo, so spams adds, "services" and things I don't want. Then at every page asks "please setup a public profile account for [our rubbish attempt at copying Facebook]" and no option to "skip" or "not ask again".

If IDNet ever stop selling, I think I'd prefer TalkTalk to BT.
I use to have a signature, then it all changed to chip and pin.

I really must add TalkTalk to the forum profanity filter ;D

Just remember that they started out selling TV rentals, under the name "Martin Dawes". Some Granadaland folks might remember the name.

You can also wind up Cable and Wireless reps by calling their firm the Gutta-Percha Company. :)

Simon

Can't say I remember Martin Dawes.  I expect Clive and Den will.  :)x

They are still around in name whether it's the same company though http://www.martindawes.com/ but it looks like it's Martin Dawes Systems that is the TalkTalk partner http://www.thebusinessdesk.com/northwest/news/330526-heatons-advises-on-martin-dawes-deal.html#

Back when they were Opal Telecom I asked and, yes, they're part of the same group.

Sorry Simon, I'm too young to remember Martin Dawes.

john

let me refresh your memory then  ;D

Their showroom isn't far from me but I've never been in since I bought a TV from them when they had a shop in the high street in the 1980's. A colleague at work got a deal from another branch but when I asked for the same at my branch the salesman disputed it and became a bit abusive. I've never darkened their doorway since  >:(

Clive

Thanks John, I confess I haven't come into contact with it.   :D
